بخبرتك اللهم كل حقيقة

O You who are God, the All-Knowing by His very essence—

And O You who are Allah, the All-Aware by Your very essence,

Your knowledge, O God, encompasses every reality.

by Your awareness, O Allah, of every reality,

علمت الهي الكنه من كل ممكن

علمت الهي الكنه من كل ممكن

كما شئته كوناً من العدمية

كما شئته كوناً من العدمية

You knew, my God, the essence of every possible thing,

You knew, my God, the essence of every contingent being,

just as You willed it into being from nonexistence.

as You willed it into being from nonexistence.

ومهما يكن من خبرة فلعلة

ومهما يكن من خبرة فلعلة

تجدد غير الخبرة الأزلية

تجدد غير الخبرة الأزلية

Whatever knowledge is acquired arises for some cause,

And whatever awareness there is owes to a cause,

renewed—unlike knowledge that is pre-eternal.

arising anew—except for eternal awareness.

فما ساكن في الخلق أو متحرك

فما ساكن في الخلق أو متحرك

ولم يك في الأزال منك بخيرة

ولم يك في الأزال منك بخيرة

For there is nothing still or moving in creation

For nothing is still or moving in creation

that was not, in pre-eternity, there by Your choosing.

that was not chosen by You from all eternity.

ومالي وعرض الحال والحال فطرة

ومالي وعرض الحال والحال فطرة

وأنت خبير يا الهي بفطرتي

وأنت خبير يا الهي بفطرتي

What need have I to present my state, when that state is innate,

And why should I present my state, when my state is innate,

and You, my God, know my inborn nature?

and You, my God, are aware of my innate nature?

Yes—presenting my state is a quest setting out from where I rest

toward You, and a duty among the duties of servitude.

دعوت مع البلوى إلى فسحة الدعا

دعوت مع البلوى إلى فسحة الدعا

فالجأتني في كرب ضيقي لفسحتي

فالجأتني في كرب ضيقي لفسحتي

Amid affliction, I called out toward prayer’s broad expanse,

You called me, amid affliction, to the spaciousness of prayer;

for in the anguish of my straits You drove me to my spacious refuge.

so, in the anguish of my straits, You compelled me toward my own spaciousness.

فما ذرة يا رب تخفى عليك من

فما ذرة يا رب تخفى عليك من

بلائي وتضراعي وحلي ونجعتي

بلائي وتضراعي وحلي ونجعتي

Not an atom, Lord, is hidden from You of

For not a speck is hidden from You, O Lord, of

my affliction, my pleading, my encampment, or my journeying in quest.

my affliction, my pleading, my dwelling, and my quest for pasture.

تراقب ضري يا خبير برحمة

تراقب ضري يا خبير برحمة

ولطف ولم أخرج من العدمية

You observe my suffering, O All-Knowing, with mercy

You watched over my suffering, O All-Aware, with mercy

and tenderness, though I had not yet emerged from nonexistence.

and gentleness, before I had emerged from nonexistence.

وتعلم ما آتي وما أنا تارك

وتعلم ما آتي وما أنا تارك

وما كان في علمي وما فات خبرتي

وما كان في علمي وما فات خبرتي

You know what I undertake and what I leave undone,

And You know what I do and what I leave undone,

what lay within my knowledge and what escaped my awareness.

and what was within my knowledge and what eluded my awareness.

الهي قد أدركت كنه عوالمي

الهي قد أدركت كنه عوالمي

فكن لي بما يرضيك من تبعيتي

فكن لي بما يرضيك من تبعيتي

My God, You have comprehended the essence of all my realms;

My God, You have indeed comprehended the essence of my worlds;

so be with me in whatever submission of mine pleases You.

so stand by me, through whatever in my following You pleases You.
