ويا محيِيَ الأرواح في ملكوتها

ويا محيِيَ الأرواح في ملكوتها

كما شاء من ذات وكيف وحلية

كما شاء من ذات وكيف وحلية

O Reviver of spirits in their celestial realm,

And O giver of life to spirits in their spiritual realm,

As He willed, in essence, manner, and adornment;

as He willed, in essence, quality, and adornment;

ومنشئها من بحر نور محمد

ومنشئها من بحر نور محمد

كما شاء من أشكالها الملكية

كما شاء من أشكالها الملكية

And their Originator from the ocean of Muhammad’s light,

and their originator from the sea of Muhammad's light,

As He willed, in their angelic forms.

as He willed, in their angelic forms;

ويا محيي الأرواح سراً مخدراً

ويا محيي الأرواح سراً مخدراً

لسر حياة الأنفس الحيوية

لسر حياة الأنفس الحيوية

O Reviver of spirits—a secret closely veiled—

And O giver of life to spirits as a veiled mystery,

For the secret of the living life of souls;

for the mystery of the life of living souls;

ويا محيي الأجساد بعد انحلالها

ويا محيي الأجساد بعد انحلالها

وافنائها من عالم البرزخية

وافنائها من عالم البرزخية

O Reviver of bodies after their dissolution

And O giver of life to bodies after their dissolution

And their passing from the intermediate realm;

and annihilation, from the intermediate realm;

ويا محيي الأنوار في دار قدسه

ويا محيي الأنوار في دار قدسه

حياة خلود لا تحد بمدة

حياة خلود لا تحد بمدة

O Reviver of lights in the abode of His holiness,

And O giver of life to lights in His holy abode,

With immortal life bounded by no span;

a life of eternity unbounded by any span of time;

ويا محيي الأنوار في دار قدسه

ويا محيي الأنوار في دار قدسه

حياة خلود لا تحد بمدة

حياة خلود لا تحد بمدة

O Reviver of lights in the abode of His holiness,

And O giver of life to lights in His holy abode,

With immortal life bounded by no span;

a life of eternity unbounded by any span of time;

ويا محيي الفجار في دار عدله

ويا محيي الفجار في دار عدله

معاذك من تلك الحياة المقيمة

معاذك من تلك الحياة المقيمة

O Reviver of the wicked in the abode of His justice—

And O giver of life to the wicked in the abode of His justice—

I seek Your refuge from that abiding life.

I seek refuge in You from that abiding life.

ويا محيي الأسرار بالنور والهدى

ويا محيي الأسرار بالنور والهدى

وبالعلم والعرفان والمددية

وبالعلم والعرفان والمددية

O Reviver of mysteries through light and guidance,

And O giver of life to inner secrets through light and guidance,

Through knowledge, spiritual insight, and divine aid;

and through knowledge, spiritual insight, and sustaining aid;

ويا محيي الألباب منا بذكره

ويا محيي الألباب منا بذكره

فقامت بحق الذكر شوقاً وحطت

فقامت بحق الذكر شوقاً وحطت

O Reviver of our minds through remembrance of Him,

And O giver of life to our intellects through remembrance of Him,

So they rose to fulfill remembrance’s due, yearningly, and came to rest.

so they fulfilled remembrance's due in longing, and came to rest;

ويا محيي الأحياء تحت شهوده

ويا محيي الأحياء تحت شهوده

وهم في الهوى والمحق تحت الهوية

وهم في الهوى والمحق تحت الهوية

O Reviver of the living beneath His witnessing gaze,

And O giver of life to the living beneath His witnessing,

While they dwell in love and self-effacement beneath the Divine Identity.

while they are in love and effacement beneath the divine selfhood;

تقدست أدركني بتقديس باطني

تقدست أدركني بتقديس باطني

وإحياء نفسي بالحياة الزكية

وإحياء نفسي بالحياة الزكية

All-holy are You! Reach me by sanctifying my inward being

Hallowed are You! Come to my aid by sanctifying my inner being

And reviving my soul with the life of purity:

and reviving my soul with a pure life—

حياة مع الكونين أحيا بحظها

حياة مع الكونين أحيا بحظها

وأحيى بها موتى العمى بهدايتي

وأحيى بها موتى العمى بهدايتي

A life whose share I live amid both worlds,

a life through whose share I live alongside the two worlds,

And through it, by my guidance, revive those dead in blindness.

and through which I revive those dead in blindness by my guidance.
