ويا والي الأشياء ملكاً وحيطة

ويا والي الأشياء ملكاً وحيطة

تصرفها حكماً بحسب المشيئة

تصرفها حكماً بحسب المشيئة

And O Ruler of all things, in dominion and encompassing oversight,

O Master of all things, a King of encompassing rule

You direct them by decree, according to Your will.

Whose management according to His will all things endure

توليتها بسطاً وقبضاً مدبراً

توليتها بسطاً وقبضاً مدبراً

لها حسب ما تختار لا بمعونة

لها حسب ما تختار لا بمعونة

You took charge of them, expanding and contracting, governing

Who has extended and withheld them in His providence

Them as You choose, without assistance.

According to what He chooses, not with any help

لأمرك سلطان النفوذ بلا يد

لأمرك سلطان النفوذ بلا يد

معارضة أو شركة في القضية

معارضة أو شركة في القضية

Your command has sovereign force, with no hand

For Your command there is the sultanate of influence without hands

Opposing it, nor any partnership in the matter.

Or any partnership in the matter

تفردت بالتدبير في كل كائن

تفردت بالتدبير في كل كائن

فما دبر المخلوق أمراً لشركة

فما دبر المخلوق أمراً لشركة

You alone govern every being;

You alone oversee all creation

So no creature has governed any affair in partnership.

So no creature contrives anything without Your partnership

وكنت ملياً بالولاية قدرة

وكنت ملياً بالولاية قدرة

وفعلاً وتدبيراً بغير وسيطة

وفعلاً وتدبيراً بغير وسيطة

And You have ever been fully capable of guardianship, in power,

And You have been endowed with guardianship and power

And in action and governance, without an intermediary.

In deed and management without any intermediary

وما لي وللتدبير والأمر كله

وما لي وللتدبير والأمر كله

إليك وما لي منك مثقال ذرة

إليك وما لي منك مثقال ذرة

And what have I to do with planning, when all command

And I have no part in the management and command of all

Belongs to You, and nothing of Yours—not an atom's weight—is mine?

To You belongs all and I have not an atom's weight from You

وما قدر تدبيري وشأن استطاعتي

وما قدر تدبيري وشأن استطاعتي

وفي قيد حكم منك تصريف فطرتي

وفي قيد حكم منك تصريف فطرتي

And what worth has my planning, what standing my ability,

And my management and the extent of my capability

When my nature's workings are bound by a decree from You?

Is by the decree of Your governance, the molding of my nature

واسقاط تدبيري سلوك محقق

واسقاط تدبيري سلوك محقق

يحققه أمري لوالي الحقيقة

يحققه أمري لوالي الحقيقة

And relinquishing my planning is a realized seeker's path,

And the lowering of my management is the course of truth

Made real by this: my affairs belong to the Guardian of Reality.

Made true by my Lord's command of the reality

وما مبلغ التدبير والأمر منتهى

وما مبلغ التدبير والأمر منتهى

إليك وأطواري لحصر وعلة

إليك وأطواري لحصر وعلة

And what reach has planning, when all affairs come at last

And the extent of management and command is not the end

To You, while my states are subject to limitation and causation?

To You, and my states are for definition and cause

الهي سلطان الولاية باهر

الهي سلطان الولاية باهر

لكليلة الامكان والجزئية

لكليلة الامكان والجزئية

My God, the sovereign power of Your guardianship is dazzling

O God, the splendid sultanate of guardianship

To the dim eye of contingency and particularity.

Of the macrocosm and microcosm

تول أموري كلها وادفع البلا

تول أموري كلها وادفع البلا

وأفات هذا الكون وابسط ولايتي

وأفات هذا الكون وابسط ولايتي

Take charge of all my affairs, and ward off tribulation

Take over all my affairs, and remove afflictions

And the afflictions of this universe, and extend my guardianship.

And extend my guardianship over this universe
