حصين فما في النقص أمن لخيفتي

O Faith-Giver, grant me safety—and Your impregnable—

And O Giver of Safety, grant me safety and Your protection—

—protection; for amid imperfection there is no safety for my fear.

وأمنك للمخلوق لا خوف عنده

وأمنك للمخلوق لا خوف عنده

لسوء بذي الدنيا وبالأخروية

لسوء بذي الدنيا وبالأخروية

Your safeguard leaves the creature with no fear

And under Your protection the creature has no fear

of evil in this world or in the hereafter.

وأمنك حصن ما نبع لا يؤوده

عداء الرزايا واقتحام البلية

Your safeguard is a fortress: whenever an assault surges, it is not weighed down by

And Your protection is a fortress for whatever has sprung forth, unburdened

Your safeguard against fear, O Faith-Giver, is my shield;

And Your protection is a shield for me, O You who give safety from fear.

وأمنك لي من حيث أنك ذاكري

وذكرى لك اللهم بالتبعية

Your safeguard is mine, inasmuch as You remember me,

And Your protection is mine because You remember me,

while my remembrance of You, O God, follows from Yours.

وأمنك لي من جانب الخوف كالرجا

أماني إذا ألهمتنيه وعصمتي

Your safeguard for me, on the side of fear, is like hope—

And Your protection for me through fear, like hope,

my security when You inspire it in me and preserve me.

وأمنك لي من حيث خلق هدايتي

لأسباب ما فيه نجاتي وهلكتي

Your safeguard is mine in Your creating my guidance

And Your protection is mine through the creation of my guidance

toward the causes of that wherein lie my salvation and my ruin.

وأمنك لي من خوف مكرك معقل

يقيني ومن حيث التوكل منعتي

Your safeguard against fear of Your subtle design is the stronghold

And Your protection from fear of Your stratagem is a stronghold for me

of my certainty, while trust in You is my protection.

وهبت إلى الايمان وهو ذريعتي

فيا من به منه إليه ذريعتي

I hastened toward faith, and it is my means of approach—

I gave myself to faith, and it is my means of approach;

O You through whom, from whom, and unto whom is my means!

so O You through whom, from whom, and toward whom is my means of approach,

أمنت بك اللهمَ كل مخوفة

أمنت بك اللهمَ كل مخوفة

باحسان ظني لا باحسان سيرتي

باحسان ظني لا باحسان سيرتي

Through You, O God, I am safe from every fearful thing,

I am safe through You, O God, from every dreaded thing,

by my good expectation of You, not by the goodness of my conduct.

through thinking well of You, not through the goodness of my conduct.

الهي منك الأمن والخوف كائن

الهي منك الأمن والخوف كائن

وكل مجاز راجع للحقيقة

وكل مجاز راجع للحقيقة

My God, from You both safety and fear arise,

My God, safety and fear arise from You,

and every metaphor returns to the Reality.
