الهي معز الأولياء بعصمه

وغفرانه والرحمة الأبدية

My God, who exalts the saints through His protection,

His forgiveness, and everlasting mercy;

الهي تؤتي الملك والعز من تشا

وهذا اختصاص سره للألوهة

my God, You grant sovereignty and glory to whom You will—

this is a prerogative whose secret belongs to divinity.

وعزتك اللهم لا عز فوقها

وسبحان رب العزة السرمدية

By Your might, O God—there is no might above it;

glory be to the Lord of everlasting might.

وعزة من أعززته منك عزة

بعزتك اللهم عزت وجلت

The glory of one You exalt is glory bestowed by You;

And the honor of one whom You have exalted is honor from You;

through Your might, O God, it grows mighty and sublime.

وعزة من أعززته يا معز لن

تضام ولن تبلى بعزة قوة

The glory of one You exalt, O Giver of glory, shall never

And the honor of one You have exalted, O Exalter, will never

be oppressed, nor shall it fade, fortified by mighty strength.

suffer wrong, nor be worn away by the might of any force.

وأعزز بمن ألبسته العز راقياً

وأعزز بمن ألبسته العز راقياً

بذلته للّه أعظم رتبة

بذلته للّه أعظم رتبة

How mighty is the one You clothe in glory as he ascends:

And how exalted is the one You have clothed in honor, ascending

his humility before God is the loftiest rank.

وما العز كل العز إلا بذلة

لوجهك يفنى كل حظ وعزة

لوجهك يفنى كل حظ وعزة

All glory—glory in its entirety—is nothing but humble surrender

And honor—all honor—is only through humility

before Your face, where every claim and honor fades away.

for Your countenance; every gain and honor passes away.

ومن لي بدرك العز والنفس سائقي

ومن لي بدرك العز والنفس سائقي

إلى الذل والخسران شوق الذبيحة

إلى الذل والخسران شوق الذبيحة

Who will enable me to attain glory, while my soul drives me

And who will help me attain honor, while the soul drives me

toward humiliation and ruin with the longing of a sacrificial victim?

toward abasement and loss, with a sacrificial animal's yearning?

وعزي وسلطاني الحقيقي ثابت

وعزي وسلطاني الحقيقي ثابت

بسحقي ومحقي عالم البشرية

بسحقي ومحقي عالم البشرية

My true glory and sovereignty are established

And my honor and my true sovereignty stand firm

by my crushing and effacing the realm of human nature.

ونفسي إن عزت فأنت معزها

ونفسي إن عزت فأنت معزها

إذا انخلعت عن ربقة الشهوية

إذا انخلعت عن ربقة الشهوية

And if my soul grows mighty, it is You who exalt it,

And if my soul is exalted, You are its Exalter,

when it casts off the bondage of desire.

when it frees itself from the halter of sensual desire.

فهب لي عز الروح فيك مؤيداً

فهب لي عز الروح فيك مؤيداً

بعز ظهور يا معز ومكنة

بعز ظهور يا معز ومكنة

So grant me the spirit’s glory in You, sustained

So grant me the spirit's honor in You, sustained

by the might of manifestation, O Giver of glory, and by empowerment.

by the might of manifestation and power, O Exalter.
