My God, Watcher of secrets and every glance, You never

الهي علمت الشيء قبل حدوثه

الهي علمت الشيء قبل حدوثه

وشاهدته من قبل كون الحقيقة

وشاهدته من قبل كون الحقيقة

My God, You knew each thing before it came to be

My God, You knew each thing before it came to be,

and witnessed it before reality existed.

الهي إن الأين موضع مختف

الهي إن الأين موضع مختف

ولا أين يطوي عنك مثقال ذرة

ولا أين يطوي عنك مثقال ذرة

My God, though “where” may be a place of concealment,

My God, 'where' is indeed a hidden place;

no “where” hides from You so much as an atom’s weight.

and no 'where' conceals from You a mote's weight.

My God, the bound of “where”—You are beyond it,

My God, You are beyond the bounds of 'where',

encompassing it, and beyond the bound of the temporal sphere.

رقيب على الدنيا وما قبل قبلها

رقيب على الأخرى إلى الأبدية

Watcher over this world and what was before what preceded it,

Watcher over the Hereafter, unto eternity,

watching over the next world unto eternity.

رقيب حفيظ دائم الرعي عالم

رقيب حفيظ دائم الرعي عالم

Watcher, Preserver, forever tending, knowing

Watchful, protective, unceasing in care, knowing

the events of every detail of me, my God, and my entirety.

الهي أقمني يا رقيب مراقباً

بفعلي وتركي قدرة الشاهدية

My God, establish me, O Watcher, as one watchful

My God, make me, O Watcher, mindful,

over my actions and abstentions, through the power of witness-consciousness,

in my acting and abstaining, of the power of witnessing.

فلا أقتضي فعلاً وتركاً بغير أن

أحقق أني تحت علم وقدرة

so that I undertake neither action nor abstention without

وكن لي حفيظاً يا رقيب وعاصماً

لنفسي من آفاتها البشرية

And be my Preserver, O Watcher, and a shield

for my soul against its human afflictions.
