ولولاك لم ترشد ولم تتثبت

My God, the Wise Guide who endows minds,

O Wise God, Granter of guidance

without You, they would neither find right guidance nor gain certainty.

Without You, there is no guidance or steadfastness

الهي تدبيرات ذاتك سقتها

الهي تدبيرات ذاتك سقتها

بلا مرشد للغاية الأرشدية

بلا مرشد للغاية الأرشدية

My God, You have directed Your own designs

O God, Your decrees flowed

without a guide, toward the wisest end.

With no guide to the most guided path

الهي ما في قدس فعلك ذرة

الهي ما في قدس فعلك ذرة

تعود إلى البطلان والعبثية

تعود إلى البطلان والعبثية

My God, in Your holy action there is not a single mote

O God, there is no speck in the holiness of Your act

that ends in futility or purposelessness.

That returns to futility and pointlessness

الهي بالارشاد اسعدت من تشا

الهي بالارشاد اسعدت من تشا

وأشقيت بالابعاد وفق المشيئة

وأشقيت بالابعاد وفق المشيئة

My God, through guidance You have made happy whomever You will,

O God, with guidance You made happy those You willed

and through estrangement made wretched, according to Your will.

And with misguidance made miserable those You willed

الهي ما دبرت أمرك ساهياً

الهي ما دبرت أمرك ساهياً

ولا لهو في تقدير أية ذرة

ولا لهو في تقدير أية ذرة

My God, You have never ordered Your affairs heedlessly,

O God, You never decreed Your command heedlessly

nor is there idle play in the ordaining of any mote.

Nor is there any frivolity in determining any speck

تعاليت في ذات وفي صفة وفي

تعاليت في ذات وفي صفة وفي

كمالك والأفعال عن ذي نقيصة

كمالك والأفعال عن ذي نقيصة

Exalted are You in essence, in attribute, and in

You are transcendent in Your essence, attribute and

Your perfection and deeds, above all that is flawed.

Perfection, and acts above any deficiency

الهي أرشدني برشدك واهدني

الهي أرشدني برشدك واهدني

لما فيه اسعادي ومحو شقاوتي

لما فيه اسعادي ومحو شقاوتي

My God, guide me aright by Your guidance, and lead me

O God, guide me with Your guidance and lead me

to what brings me happiness and erases my misery.

To what makes me happy and erases my misery

الهي أرشدني لحبك أنه

الهي أرشدني لحبك أنه

برشدك للأحباب نيل المحبة

برشدك للأحباب نيل المحبة

My God, guide me to love You, for it is

O God, guide me to love You, for with

by Your guidance that the beloved attain love.

Your guidance to loved ones comes gaining love

الهي أرشدني لكشف حقيقتي

الهي أرشدني لكشف حقيقتي

فمعرفتي باللّه كشف حقيقتي

فمعرفتي باللّه كشف حقيقتي

My God, guide me to unveiling my true nature,

O God, guide me to unveil my truth

for my knowledge of God is the unveiling of my true nature.

For knowing God unveils my truth

الهي أرشدني المراشد كلها

الهي أرشدني المراشد كلها

لأمر معادي أو لأمر معيشتي

لأمر معادي أو لأمر معيشتي

My God, guide me along all the right paths,

O God, guide me to all guides

in matters of my hereafter or of my livelihood.

For my worldly affairs or livelihood

الهي من ترشده يرشد ومن غوى

الهي من ترشده يرشد ومن غوى

ففي علملك اللهم سر الغواية

ففي علملك اللهم سر الغواية

My God, whoever You guide is rightly guided; and as for whoever strays,

O God, those You guide are guided and those astray

in Your knowledge, O God, lies the secret of straying.

In Your knowledge, O God, lies the secret of misguidance
