My God, the Incomparable Originator, whose like is impossible

O my God, the Unique, the Impossible to Imitate

in essence, attributes, and creative originality.

In essence, attributes and creativity

الهي البديع المبدع الصنع كله

الهي البديع المبدع الصنع كله

عجائب لم يسبق إليها بصنعة

عجائب لم يسبق إليها بصنعة

My God, the Originator, the wondrous maker of all creation—

O my God, the Unique, the Creator of all creation

marvels never before achieved by any craft.

Wonders never before accomplished

الهي البديع الكائنات ابتدعتها

الهي البديع الكائنات ابتدعتها

ولم تبغ في انشائها من معونة

ولم تبغ في انشائها من معونة

My God, the Originator, You brought all beings into existence,

O my God, the Unique, You originated all creatures

and sought no assistance in creating them.

Without needing any assistance in their creation

الهي ما أبرزته من غرائب

الهي ما أبرزته من غرائب

شهود على الابداع في كل ذرة

شهود على الابداع في كل ذرة

My God, the wonders You have brought forth

O my God, the marvels You have manifested

bear witness to origination in every atom,

Testify in every atom to creativity

شهود على الابداع من غير شركة

شهود على الابداع من غير شركة

شهود على ابداع سابق وحدة

شهود على ابداع سابق وحدة

bear witness to creation without any partnership,

Testify without association to creativity

bear witness to the creative work of One primordial in oneness.

Testify to preceding creativity and oneness

الهي ابتدعت المبدعات عجائباً

الهي ابتدعت المبدعات عجائباً

ليظهر فيه واجب الأحدية

ليظهر فيه واجب الأحدية

My God, You brought created things forth as marvels,

O my God, You created wondrous marvels

that Your necessary oneness might be manifest in it.

To demonstrate the necessity of Your oneness

بديع السما والأرض أبدعت عالمي

بديع السما والأرض أبدعت عالمي

كما شئت من أطواره البشرية

كما شئت من أطواره البشرية

Originator of heaven and earth, You created my world

Unique in the heavens and earth, You created my worlds

as You willed, in its human stages.

However You willed, in their human state

وألهمتني الوجدان والدرك حكمة

وألهمتني الوجدان والدرك حكمة

اسوس بها في مركز العجز فطرتي

اسوس بها في مركز العجز فطرتي

And You inspired me with inner awareness and perception—a wisdom

And inspired me with wisdom and understanding

by which, in my station of helplessness, I govern my innate nature.

To dwell within the center of my incapacity

وما ذاك من حولي وادراك طاقتي

وما ذاك من حولي وادراك طاقتي

ولكنه ابداع حول الألوهة

ولكنه ابداع حول الألوهة

And that comes neither from my power nor from the reach of my capacity,

Not from any ability or effort on my part

but is the creative work of divine might.

But from Your divine creativity

وها قد أحاطت بي وأنت محيطها

وها قد أحاطت بي وأنت محيطها

بدائع مكروه علت فوق قدرتي

بدائع مكروه علت فوق قدرتي

And behold, they have surrounded me, while You encompass them—

You have encompassed me while You are its encompasser

strange marvels of adversity that have risen beyond my power.

Marvels beyond my capacity have exalted above my abilities

تفسح عن تحويلهن تمحلي

تفسح عن تحويلهن تمحلي

فابدع خلاصي يا بديع العجيبة

فابدع خلاصي يا بديع العجيبة

My resourcefulness has drawn back from turning them aside;

To transform them through my own efforts

so fashion my deliverance, O Originator of the marvelous.

So originate my salvation, O Unique in marvels
