My God, the Glorious, the Truth, Your glory abides

In Your essence, Your acts, and Your attributes.

My God, You did not give might a beginning—no; nor

Does any vile deed arise through Your action, O Possessor of Glory.

    من الواجب الذاتي مجد الألوهة

    My God, glory's due belongs to the Truth alone;

The glory of divinity is an intrinsic necessity.

My God, God's glory is loftiest in noble qualities,

And highest in perfection, not constrained by my lowliness.

My God, God's glory, in the vastness of His might,

Can ward off affliction wherever it strikes.

My God, what is a helpless one's glorification worth

Beside the magnitude of God's glory and greatness?

My God, were it not for Your enjoining remembrance and supplication,

I would hold God's glory too sacred for my words to mention.

    بمجدك خلصني وحل بليتي

    The knots of my afflictions have gained mastery over me;

By Your glory, deliver me and unravel my affliction.

For You are beautiful in kindness, vast in giving,

Praiseworthy, glorious, not constrained by my need.

Nor am I disappointed, having championed Your glory,

Even if the desire of my human nature has tainted my sincerity.

And what most befits Your glory, O Glorious One—

Manifest beyond doubt—is the fulfillment of my wish.
