Sol 6.1

  1. الهِيَ يا خلاق أنت خلقتني

    فسوَّيت أركاني فعدلت خلقتي

    My God, O Creator, You created me.

    Then fashioned my frame and made my form well-proportioned.

  2. وركبتني ما شئت في أي صورة

    على وضع مختار وتقدير حكمة

    And assembled me as You willed, in whatever form,

    According to a chosen arrangement and a wise measure.

  3. وأوجدت أطواري وكسبي وهيئتي

    وإدراك وجداني وإحساس نهيتي

    And brought into being my stages, my acquired deeds, and my appearance,

    And the apprehension of my consciousness and the perception of my intellect.

  4. وأشعرتني نفعي وضري مهيئاً

    مسالك نفعي وابتعاد مضرتي

    And made me aware of my benefit and harm, preparing

    Paths to my benefit and the avoidance of my harm.

  5. وقدرت مني الخير والشر فطرة

    وقدرت عقبي الكسب من بشريتي

    And ordained good and evil from me as part of my nature,

    And ordained the outcome of deeds arising from my human nature.

  6. ومالي في خلق اكتسابي شركة

    وحاشاك لم تجبر على الشر خيرتي

    And I have no share in creating the deeds I acquire;

    And far be it from You—you did not compel my choice toward evil.

  7. وبالحلق والأمر اختصصت بغيرما

    اعتراض مثيل أو عناء مشقة

    And You alone possess creation [probably intended; the text reads 'the throat'] and command, without

    An equal's objection or the strain of hardship.

  8. ونورتني بالعلم مما وهبتني

    وأخرجتني من بعض جهلي وضلتي

    And enlightened me with knowledge from what You bestowed on me,

    And brought me out of some of my ignorance and my straying.

  9. وبوأتني مما خلقت مسوءاً

    فاحسبتني من صالحات لهلكتي

    And placed me among what You created, distressed,

    Then supplied me with sufficient good things for my ruin.

  10. بخلقك يا خلاق كل حقيقة

    فأيد بروح منك رب حقيقتي

    By Your creation of every reality, O Creator,

    So strengthen my true being, Lord, with a spirit from You.
