الهي لا موجود غيرك لم يكن

بقهرك يا قهار والجبرية

My God, no being other than You has come to be

Except through Your subduing power, O All-Subduer, and omnipotence.

الهي قهرت الممكنات فكلها

بقهرك في عجز وفقر وذلة

My God, You subdued contingent beings; all of them

Are helpless, poor, and abased through Your subduing power.

فما ساكن في الكون أو متحرك

بمعتصم من قهر ربي بمنعة

So nothing at rest or moving in the universe

Is sheltered from my Lord's subduing power by any defense.

قصمت ظهور المعتدين بما طغوا

فما رد بأس القهر منك بعزة

You broke the backs of the aggressors because they tyrannized.

So no might could repel the force of Your subduing power.

الهي جلال القهر في كنه ذاته

علا عن رسوم القهر والنظرية

My God, the majesty of Your subduing power, in its innermost essence,

Transcends the forms of subduing power and theoretical conception.

الهي جلال القهر ليس بواهن

وإن أمهل القهار مكراً لبرهة

My God, the majesty of Your subduing power is not feeble,

Even if the All-Subduer grants a brief respite as a stratagem.

الهي طغت فوق العباد عصائب

فعمت سيول الظلم منها وطمت

My God, bands have tyrannized over Your servants;

So their torrents of oppression spread everywhere and overflowed.

طغام طغاة تبَّروا ما علوا ولا

نصير سوى القهار فوق البرية

A vile rabble of tyrants, they destroyed all they overran; and there is no

Helper but the All-Subduer above creation.

وما غاية المقهور في جبروته

سوى بطشة القهارب الخليقة

And what end awaits the subdued one in his tyranny

But the All-Subduer's crushing blow upon creation?

الهي تداركهم بقهر ذواتهم

وعدتهم والعد والمددية

My God, overtake them by subduing their very selves,

And their equipment, their numbers, and their support.

الهي ومن حاباهم وأعانهم

وداهنم بغيا لأجل البغية

My God, overtake also whoever favored them and aided them,

And pandered to them wrongfully for the sake of a desired end.
