Exalted are You, great in essence, without beginning.

Nor is an appointed end decreed for Your greatness.

Exalted are You, great in station, majesty, and praise.

So Your essence has no ultimate limit, nor can the intellect grasp it.

Exalted are You beyond measure, limit, and annihilation,

And beyond others' veneration and perception by sight.

Exalted are You, great in the grandeur of Your overpowering might.

All things glorify You through their innate nature.

Exalted are You beyond the veneration of any being.

What, then, is my veneration worth, and what is the reach of my utterance?

The necessity of the Essence's true existence entails

Your greatness, enduring for all eternity.

And Your command to the servant to venerate You is a favor,

So that veneration may earn him the highest rank.

And were it not for my obedience to the command, I would deem the measure of

The greatness belonging to You beyond the reach of speech.

And I would have sufficed, O Great One, as one who venerates You,

When my mind lost its way in the trackless wastes of my bewilderment.

Yes, my mind has lost its way; wandering is its constant habit,

And reverence has halted it short of the truth.

    Thus the unseen is not beheld, nor the essence comprehended;

Nor is greatness bounded, nor can thought conceive it.
