أفي حفر السويان أصبح قومنا

سبقنا اليه يوم بويع خالد

وحفر البطاح فوق أرجائه الدم

We reached it first on the day allegiance was pledged to Khalid,

We came before them the day Khaled was pledged allegiance

and blood lay upon the edges of Hafar al-Bitah.

And Al-Bataah was dug with its corners bloody
