Even if the heart were scorched by blazing fire,

It would neither forget you nor turn away.

عذّبوا كيفَ شئتُم

فعذابي بكُم حلا

Torment me however you wish;

For my torment at your hands has grown sweet.

هاجرَ النومُ مقلتي

واصطباري ترحّلا

Sleep has forsaken my eye,

And my patient endurance has departed.

مطلقُ الدمعِ مرسَلٌ

مطلقُ الدمعِ مرسَلٌ

وعذولي تقوّلا

وعذولي تقوّلا

The tears are unbound, let loose,

And my reproacher has uttered lies.

ودموعي تواتَرَت

ودموعي تواتَرَت

فوقَ خدّي تسَلسَلا

فوقَ خدّي تسَلسَلا

And my tears have come in succession,

Over my cheek in an unbroken stream.

فارحموا مغرَما بكُم

فارحموا مغرَما بكُم

في هواكُم تغزَّلا

في هواكُم تغزَّلا

So have mercy on one enamored of you,

Who has voiced his love for you in verse.
