O Abu Khalid, my pillar and the one whose servant I am,

The enemies have indeed deliberately sought my ruin to make you angry.

For if I said what the enemies brought to you,

Then may my right hand be paralyzed, and may you grow angrier.

And may calamity never cease to be heaped upon me,

And by evening may I be a dust-covered carcass for beasts of prey.

So do not heed the enemies' words, but consider carefully,

O Abu Khalid, my excuse, even if you are angry.
