عَلَيكَ سَلامُ الأَصبَحِيَّةِ كُلَّما

عَلَيكَ سَلامُ الأَصبَحِيَّةِ كُلَّما

يَحِنُّ أَخو شَوقٍ لِبُعدِ دِيارِ

يَحِنُّ أَخو شَوقٍ لِبُعدِ دِيارِ

Upon you be al-Aṣbaḥiyya’s greeting whenever

The morning greeting's peace be upon you whenever

a man of longing yearns for far-off homes.

A brother of longing yearns for the distance of homelands

فَأَنتَ أَخو شَينٍ وَخِدنُ دَناءَةٍ

فَأَنتَ أَخو شَينٍ وَخِدنُ دَناءَةٍ

وَصاحِبُ عارٍ وَاِبنُ أُمِّ شَنارِ

وَصاحِبُ عارٍ وَاِبنُ أُمِّ شَنارِ

For you are a brother to disgrace and a companion to baseness,

So you are a despicable brother and lowly friend

and a companion to shame, and a son of infamy’s mother.
