فَظاهِرُهاso its back لِلناسِfor the people رُكنٌa corner مُقَبَّلٌkissed

Thus its outer face, to the people, is a corner they kiss;
So its back is a corner that people kiss;
And its inner face is a copious spring of generosity.
And its palm is an abundant spring of generosity.
هُوَhe البَحرُthe sea لاnot عَينَa spring مِنَof الجودِgenerosity عَيلَمُabundant in water
هُوَ البَحرُ لا عَينَ مِنَ الجودِ عَيلَمُ
عَفاءٌoblivion عَلىupon عَينٍa spring مِنَof الجودِgenerosity عَيلَمُabundant in water
عَفاءٌ عَلى عَينٍ مِنَ الجودِ عَيلَمُ
He is the sea, no mere copious spring of generosity.
He is the sea, not an abundant spring of generosity.
Let oblivion fall upon a copious spring of generosity!
Oblivion upon an abundant spring of generosity!
يُجَلُّis exalted عَنِbeyond التَقبيلِkissing ظاهِرَthe back of كَفِّهِhis hand
يُجَلُّ عَنِ التَقبيلِ ظاهِرَ كَفِّهِ

وَباطِنُها عَن أَن تُقاسَ بِزَمزَمِ
The back of his hand is too exalted for kissing,
The back of his hand is too exalted to be kissed,
and its palm too exalted to be compared with Zamzam.
And its palm too exalted to be compared with Zamzam.
