نٍ دَوامٍ دَوامِعِ

The secret's undoing comes from eye-

lids that bleed and weep.

كَيفَ يَخفى مَعَ الدُمو

كَيفَ يَخفى مَعَ الدُمو

عِ الهَوامي الهَوامِعِ

عِ الهَوامي الهَوامِعِ

How can it remain hidden amid the tear-

drops that stream and gush?

ما رَأَينا أَخا هَوى

سِرُّهُ غَيرَ ذائِعِ

سِرُّهُ غَيرَ ذائِعِ

We have never seen a lover

whose secret was not revealed.

إِنَّ نيرانَ حُبِّهِ

بادِياتُ الطَوالِعِ

بادِياتُ الطَوالِعِ

Indeed, the fires of his love

are plain to see as they rise.
