    I passed by dusky-shirted, black-turbaned ones,

Singing on the crowns of slender, tender beauties.

They took pride in lovely sidelocks, as though they were

Stars upon the upper arms of a coal-black man.

You see gold they have laid beneath hindquarters

Of theirs, and silver they have hung upon their fronts.

Oh, how lovely a form of pure gold and silver,

And silk-and-wool cloth and brocade, jet-black and dusky!
