وَقَدand already غَدَوتُI set out early وَصُبحُwhile the dawn اللَيلِof the night مُنتَقِصٌwaning
وَغَرَّةُand the white brow الصُبحِof dawn مَصقولٌburnished حَواشيهاits edges
And I had set out early, while the night's dawn was waning;
And dawn's white brow was burnished along its edges;
وَغَرَّبَتand moved westward أَنجُمُthe stars الظُلَماءِof the dark night وَاِنحَدَرَتand descended
فَشالَso rose أَرجُلُهاtheir feet وَاِنحَطَّand sank أَيديهاtheir hands
And the stars of the dark night moved westward and descended;
So their feet rose, and their hands sank.
