وَمَهرَجانٍand a Mihrijan festival مُعجَبٍadmirable مونَقٍdelightful
كَالنورِlike the blossoms غَبَّafter السَبَلِthe rain الساجِمِpouring
And a wondrous, delightful Mihrijan festival,
A splendid festival, elegant and bright
Like blossoms after the pouring rain.
Like light, it hid the paths of darkness
طالَعتُI beheld فيهِin it غَرَراًradiance واضِحاًclear
كَمِثلِjust like أَيّامِthe days of أَبيAbu القاسِمِal-Qasim
I beheld in it a clear radiance,
I saw in it clear gems
Like the days of Abu al-Qasim.
Like the days of my father Al-Qasim
وَالآسُand the myrtle فيin كَفّيmy palm أُحَيِّيهُمُI greet them
مِثلَlike شَوابيرَtrumpets بَنيthe sons of هاشِمِHashim
And the myrtle in my palm, as I greet them,
With my staff in hand I greet them
Is like the trumpets of the sons of Hashim.
Like the swords of the Hashimites
