وَخَوخَةٌand a peach مِلءُenough to fill يَدِthe hand of الجانِيَهthe female picker
وَخَوخَةٌ مِلءُ يَدِ الجانِيَه
تَملُكُcaptivates لَحظَthe gaze of الأَعيُنِthe eyes الرانِيَهgazing intently
تَملُكُ لَحظَ الأَعيُنِ الرانِيَه
And a peach, filling the hand of the woman who plucks it,
And a peach that fills the woman picker's hand,
Commands the gaze of eyes fixed upon it:
Captivates the gaze of watching eyes,
مُصفَرَّةُyellowed الوَجنَةِthe cheek مُحمَرَّةٌreddened
مُصفَرَّةُ الوَجنَةِ مُحمَرَّةٌ
كَأَنَّهاas though she were عاشِقَةٌa woman in love سالِيَهhaving forgotten her love
كَأَنَّها عاشِقَةٌ سالِيَه
Yellow-cheeked, yet flushed with red—
Yellow of cheek, flushed with red,
As though she were a lover who had forgotten love.
