ة وقرب أولاد النِعَم

Whoever delights in life’s sweetness,

Whoever delights in the sweetness of life

and in the company of the privileged,

and closeness to the sons of affluence,

حتى يعزَّ بدهره

حتى يعزَّ بدهره

هذا ويثري من عدم

هذا ويثري من عدم

so that he may rise in honor in his lifetime—

so that he may gain honor in this age

this very lifetime—and grow rich out of poverty,

and grow rich from nothing,

فليأخذ الحبل الطويل

فليأخذ الحبل الطويل

ويمش قدّام الغنم

ويمش قدّام الغنم

let him take up the long rope

let him take the long rope

and walk ahead of the sheep.
