أَيُّwhat عَيشٍlife لِشُيَيخٍfor a little old man
أَيُّ عَيشٍ لِشُيَيخٍ
هُوَhe حَيٌّalive مثلُlike مَيتa dead man
هُوَ حَيٌّ مثلُ مَيت
What life is there for a little old man?
What life is there for an old man

My lamp is without
a drop of oil to sustain it.
A drop of oil left for life
