ذَوو العلمِ في الدُنيا نُجومٌ زَواهِرُ

ذَوو العلمِ في الدُنيا نُجومٌ زَواهِرُ

وَإِنَّكَ فيها الشَمسُ حَقّاً بِلا لَبسِ

وَإِنَّكَ فيها الشَمسُ حَقّاً بِلا لَبسِ

Those endowed with knowledge in this world are radiant stars;

The learned in this world are shining stars.

and among them you are truly the sun, beyond all doubt.

And you are truly the sun therein, beyond doubt.

إِذا لُحتَ أَخفَى نورُكم كُلَّ نيِّرٍ

إِذا لُحتَ أَخفَى نورُكم كُلَّ نيِّرٍ

أَلَم تَرَ أَن النَجمَ يَخفى مَعَ الشَمسِ

أَلَم تَرَ أَن النَجمَ يَخفى مَعَ الشَمسِ

When you come into view, your light eclipses every luminary.

When you appear, your light eclipses every luminary.

Have you not seen that a star fades in the sun’s presence?

Have you not seen that the star disappears in the sun’s presence?
