ذَوو العلمِ في الدُنيا نُجومٌ زَواهِرُ

ذَوو العلمِ في الدُنيا نُجومٌ زَواهِرُ

وَإِنَّكَ فيها الشَمسُ حَقّاً بِلا لَبسِ

وَإِنَّكَ فيها الشَمسُ حَقّاً بِلا لَبسِ

The learned in this world are radiant stars.

The learned are stars shining bright,

And in it you are truly the sun, beyond all doubt.

And you among them are truly the sun without doubt,

إِذا لُحتَ أَخفَى نورُكم كُلَّ نيِّرٍ

إِذا لُحتَ أَخفَى نورُكم كُلَّ نيِّرٍ

أَلَم تَرَ أَن النَجمَ يَخفى مَعَ الشَمسِ

أَلَم تَرَ أَن النَجمَ يَخفى مَعَ الشَمسِ

When you shine forth, your light obscures every luminary.

When you appear, your light hides all other lights,

Have you not seen that the star fades from view beside the sun?

Have you not seen how the stars disappear when the sun is out?
