وَعاشَ بِدَعوى العِلمِ ناسٌ وَما لَهُم

وَعاشَ بِدَعوى العِلمِ ناسٌ وَما لَهُم

مِن العلمِ حَظٌّ لا بِعَقلٍ وَلا نَقلِ

مِن العلمِ حَظٌّ لا بِعَقلٍ وَلا نَقلِ

And some people have lived by claiming knowledge, though they have no

Share in knowledge, whether through reason or transmitted learning.

فَيا عَجَباً للحَبرِ يَحرم رزقه

فَيا عَجَباً للحَبرِ يَحرم رزقه

بعلم وَللأغمار ترزق بِالجهلِ

بعلم وَللأغمار ترزق بِالجهلِ

So how astonishing that the scholar is denied his livelihood

Because of his knowledge, while the ignorant are provided for through ignorance!
