يَلوحُstands out بِسيماهُby his distinguishing features الفَتىthe youth مِنfrom among بَنيthe sons of أَبيmy father
يَلوحُ بِسيماهُ الفَتى مِن بَني أَبي
وَتَعرِفُهُand you recognize him مِنfrom غَيرِهِthose other than him بِالشَمائِلِby character traits
وَتَعرِفُهُ مِن غَيرِهِ بِالشَمائِلِ
The youth of my father's line stands out by his features;
and you distinguish him from others by his character.
مُفَدّىone for whom others would sacrifice themselves مُرَدّىclad in a cloak يَكثُرُare numerous الناسُthe people حَولَهُaround him
مُفَدّى مُرَدّى يَكثُرُ الناسُ حَولَهُ
طَويلُlong نِجادِbaldric of السَيفِthe sword سَبطُslender and supple الأَنامِلِthe fingers
طَويلُ نِجادِ السَيفِ سَبطُ الأَنامِلِ
Cherished and cloaked, people throng around him;
long is his sword-baldric, slender and supple his fingers.
