يالَيلَةًO night لَستُI do not أَنسىforget طيبَهاits sweetness أَبَداًever
يالَيلَةً لَستُ أَنسى طيبَها أَبَداً
كَأَنَّas though كُلَّevery سُرورٍjoy حاضِرٌpresent فيهاin it
كَأَنَّ كُلَّ سُرورٍ حاضِرٌ فيها
O night, whose sweetness I shall never forget!
O night that I shall never forget your goodness ever
As though every joy were present in it.
As if all joy is present in you

She and I spent the night, with the wineskin our third companion,
I spent the night, while the jug, our third companion, spent it with us
Until morning, she gave me wine to drink, and I gave her wine.
Until morning, pouring me drink and I pouring it drink

أَهدَت سُلافَتَها صِرفاً إِلى فيها
As though black grape clusters amid her tresses
As if clusters of black grapes in their ripeness
Had offered their choicest wine, unmixed, to her mouth.
Gave their wine unstintingly only to our mouths
