أَزرى السِنانُ بِوَجهِ هَذا البائِسُ
I shall never forget their words the day they met me:
I will never forget what they said when they met me,
“The spearhead has marred this wretched man's face.”
My cheek shows the mark of my teeth because of this wretch.

She said to them, rejecting what they had said:
She told them and denied what they were saying,
“Are all of you my rivals in loving him?
Are you all competing for his love?
إِنّيindeed I لَيُعجِبُنيtruly pleases me إِذاwhen عايَنتُهُI behold him
إِنّي لَيُعجِبُني إِذا عايَنتُهُ

Indeed, when I behold him, what truly pleases me is
Indeed I like it when I look upon,
the spearhead's scar on the surface of the horseman's cheek.”
The mark of my teeth on the cheek of this knight.
