لَمdid not أُؤاخِذكَI reproach you بِالجَفاءِfor coldness لِأَنّيbecause I
لَم أُؤاخِذكَ بِالجَفاءِ لِأَنّي
واثِقٌconfident مِنكَin you بِالوَفاءِof fidelity الصَحيحِtrue
واثِقٌ مِنكَ بِالوَفاءِ الصَحيحِ
I did not reproach you for your coldness, because I
am confident of your true fidelity.
فَجَميلُfor the good deed of العَدُوِّthe enemy غَيرُnot جَميلٍgood
فَجَميلُ العَدُوِّ غَيرُ جَميلٍ
وَقَبيحُand the bad deed of الصَديقِthe friend غَيرُnot قَبيحِbad
وَقَبيحُ الصَديقِ غَيرُ قَبيحِ
For an enemy's good deed is no good deed,
and a friend's bad deed is no bad deed.
