أَغَصُّI choke لِذِكرِهِat remembering him أَبَداًalways بِريقيon my saliva
وَأَشرَقُand I choke مِنهُbecause of him بِالماءِon water القَراحِpure
I always choke on my saliva when I remember him,
My mouth waters when I remember him,
and because of him I choke on pure water.
And from it shine drops of saliva.
وَتَمنَعُنيand prevents me مُراقَبَةُsurveillance الأَعاديthe enemies
غُدوّيmy morning departure لِلزِيارَةِto visit أَوor رَواحيmy evening departure
And the enemies' surveillance prevents me
The watching of enemies prevents me -
from setting out to visit, morning or evening.
My going early to visit or my return.
وَلَوand if أَنّيthat I أُمَلَّكُam given control فيهِconcerning him أَمريmy affairs
رَكِبتُI would ride إِلَيهِto him أَعناقَthe necks الرِياحِof the winds
And were I given control of my affairs concerning him,
If my affairs were in my hands,
I would ride to him on the necks of the winds.
I would ride to him on the backs of winds.
