هَل لِلفَصاحَةِ وَالسَما

هَل لِلفَصاحَةِ وَالسَما

حَةِ وَالعُلى عَنّي مَحيدُ

حَةِ وَالعُلى عَنّي مَحيدُ

Can eloquence and generos-

Is eloquence, benevolence, and nobility beyond me,

ity and eminence turn away from me,

When you are my master who raised me while my father Sa'eed,

إِذ أَنتَ سَيِّدي الَّذي

إِذ أَنتَ سَيِّدي الَّذي

رَبَّيتَني وَأَبي سَعيدُ

رَبَّيتَني وَأَبي سَعيدُ

since you are my lord, who

Every day I gain advantage from the Highs, and gain more,

raised me, and my father is Sa‘id?

And it increases in me when I see you amidst the dew, a new nature,

في كُلِّ يَومٍ أَستَفي

في كُلِّ يَومٍ أَستَفي

دُ مِنَ العَلاءِ وَأَستَزيدُ

دُ مِنَ العَلاءِ وَأَستَزيدُ

Every day I bene-

fit from eminence and seek still more;

وَيَزيدُ فِيَّ إِذا رَأَي

وَيَزيدُ فِيَّ إِذا رَأَي

تُكَ في النَدى خُلُقٌ جَديدُ

تُكَ في النَدى خُلُقٌ جَديدُ

and there grows in me, whenever I see

you in your generosity, a new virtue.
