1. سلِّم وصلِّ على النبيِّ مُحَمَّدِ

    واحمل سلاحَ مجاهدٍ مُستَشهِدِ

    Send peace and blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad.

    And bear the arms of a warrior seeking martyrdom.

  2. واخدم لعزَّةِ دولة عربيةٍ

    في الجيشِ والبس شكَّة المتجند

    And serve for the glory of an Arab state,

    in the army, and don a soldier's battle gear.

  3. لولا المدافعُ والدوارعُ لم تقم

    دولٌ جَحافلُها كبحرٍ مُزبد

    Were it not for cannons and armored warships, there would be no

    states whose vast armies are like a foaming sea.

  4. يا ابنَ الأُلى وردت سوابقُ خيلهم

    نهرَ المجرَّةِ في زمانِ السؤدد

    O son of those whose swiftest horses came to drink from

    the river of the Milky Way in the age of greatness,

  5. هلا اقتَفَيتَ إلى العُلى آثارَهم

    فالمجدُ في الفَسطاطِ لا في المربد

    why have you not followed their footsteps toward the heights?

    For glory lies in the military camp, not in al-Mirbad.

  6. خذ من صناعاتِ الحديد أجلَّها

    تأخذ بها الأعداءَ واصنع للغد

    Take up the noblest of the crafts of iron:

    with it you will subdue enemies; and forge for tomorrow.

  7. أما الشجاعةُ فهي فيكَ سجيةٌ

    موروثةٌ بمثقَّفٍ ومهنَّد

    As for courage, it is an innate trait within you,

    inherited through a straightened spear and an Indian-steel sword.
