O dwelling, roses have bloomed around you,

and shade and coolness have bent over you.

    فاليوم لا غيمٌ ولا رعدُ

    Here is spring, its finery gleaming;

so today there is neither cloud nor thunder.

How much murmuring and fine adornment you hold,

    where longing melts the lover.

And like the shade of leafy boughs, now

the shade of bliss stretches over you.

Dawn broke upon you, then upon

my heart, and through you good fortune greeted me at dawn.

And the garden bloomed, and the breeze drifted,

and fragrance wafted; I have known her of old.

So fare well this morning, and live in bliss forever,

O dwelling, Hind resides within you.

Right between her gown and her canopy,

my heart is a nightingale, and love sings.

And a mantle in which she has walked in splendor seems

cut from the blue of the heavens.

And does the longed-for woman not look down upon

a lovesick man with a promise tugging at his mind?

Then fragrance wafts from her breath,

and a cheek gleams from her balconies.

Beholding beauty is worship; and so

my heart is beauty's worshipper and slave.

The sea lies outspread, and wide open

is my breast, with ebb and flow within it.

And it is as though from its waves came melodies

in which love and glory met.

The sea has its depths and its shore,

but my love has no limit.

She boasted of her pearls, not knowing

that the necklace falls short of the poem.
