إلامَ العيشُ إحجامٌ وطيشُ

إلامَ العيشُ إحجامٌ وطيشُ

وعيشُ الجِدّ والإقدامِ عيشُ

وعيشُ الجِدّ والإقدامِ عيشُ

How long shall life be hesitation and recklessness?

Life without valor and daring is but folly,

And a life of earnestness and bold action is true life.

While life with purpose and valor is living fully.

فقد تُحيي حياةُ الفردِ شعباً

فقد تُحيي حياةُ الفردِ شعباً

ويظفرُ من نُهى القوّادِ جيش

ويظفرُ من نُهى القوّادِ جيش

For an individual's life may revive a people,

For one person's life can revive a nation,

And an army triumphs through the commanders' wisdom.

And an army wins when tyrants are upended.

وَرُبُّ عشيرةٍ شرفت بشخصٍ

وَرُبُّ عشيرةٍ شرفت بشخصٍ

كما بمحمدٍ شرفت قريش

كما بمحمدٍ شرفت قريش

And many a clan has gained honor through one person,

So too can a clan be ennobled by one person,

Just as Quraysh gained honor through Muhammad.

As Quraysh was ennobled by Muhammad.
