سَل عَن تبابعةٍ عظامٍ مأرِبا

فهنالكَ السدُّ المحدِّثُ عن سَبا

Ask about the ruins of Ma'rib

Where lies the great dam of Saba

مدنيةُ اليمنِ العجيبةُ أنتَجَت

مدنيةً في مصرَ كانت أعجبا

The wonderful Yemeni civilization produced

A civilization in Egypt more wonderful

غمدانُ بينَ قصورهِ وحصونهِ

من أنجُمِ الإكليلِ يُطلِعُ كوكبا

Ghumdan between its palaces and fortresses

A star appears from the crown constellations

وبقبَّةٍ نجرانُ تَعرفُ قسَّها

حيثُ ارتَدت صنعاءُ ثوباً مُذهَبا

And with a Najran dome its measure is known

Where Sanaa wore a gilded robe

إن الذي بعثَ النبيَّ محمداً

بعروبةِ القرآنِ شرَّفَ يعربا

He who sent the Prophet Muhammad

Honored the Arabs with the Arabness of the Quran

آياتُه قد نُزِّلت عربيةً

فالله بالقرآنُ ينطقُ مُعربا

Its verses were revealed in Arabic

So Allah speaks Arabic in the Quran

كلُّ اللغاتِ تذلُّ للُّغةِ التي

عزَّت وقد كانت أحبَّ وأعذَبا

All languages are humble before the language that

Became mighty and was the most beloved and sweetest
