You hurried us, so our hastily given bounty came to you,

You hurried us, so we hurried to you,

Scant; had you given us time, it would not have been so little.

Even if you had waited, it would not have been little.

So take the little, and be as though you had not asked,

Take the little, and be as if you had not asked,

And we shall be as though we had done nothing.

And we will be as if we had not done.
