عُقِمَbecame barren النِساءُthe women فَماso not يَلِدنَthey bear شَبيهَهُhis like
عُقِمَ النِساءُ فَما يَلِدنَ شَبيهَهُ
إِنَّindeed النِساءَthe women بِمِثلِهِof his like عُقمُbarren
إِنَّ النِساءَ بِمِثلِهِ عُقمُ
Women have become barren, so they bear none like him.
Indeed, women are barren of his like.
إِنَّindeed البُيوتَthe houses مَعادِنٌmines فَنِجارُهُso his stock
إِنَّ البُيوتَ مَعادِنٌ فَنِجارُهُ
كَرَمٌnobility وَكُلُّand all جُدودَةٍforebears ضَخمُmighty
كَرَمٌ وَكُلُّ جُدودَةٍ ضَخمُ
Indeed, houses are mines, and his stock
Is nobility, and all his forebears are mighty.
غَضُّsubdued الكَلامِspeech مِنَbecause of الحَياءِmodesty تَخالُهُyou would think him
غَضُّ الكَلامِ مِنَ الحَياءِ تَخالُهُ
ضَمِناًailing وَلَيسَand there is no بِجِسمِهِin his body سُقمُsickness
ضَمِناً وَلَيسَ بِجِسمِهِ سُقمُ
Soft-spoken out of modesty, you would think him
Ailing, yet there is no sickness in his body.
مُتَعَوِّدٌaccustomed بِنَعَمto 'yes' بِلاfrom 'no' مُتَباعِدٌfar removed
مُتَعَوِّدٌ بِنَعَم بِلا مُتَباعِدٌ
سِيّانِalike مِنهُfrom him الوَفرُabundance وَالعُدمُand want
سِيّانِ مِنهُ الوَفرُ وَالعُدمُ
Accustomed to saying 'yes,' far removed from 'no';
With him, abundance and want are alike.
