My people, the sons of Jumah, are a people who, when down sweeps

A gray host—you see coats of mail along its flanks—

Are worthy of the caliphate, and keep their word if they promise,

And face battle's terror, neither unarmed nor shieldless.

God and the two clans of Jumah refuse it for me—

One invoking Habib, and one invoking Khalaf for bounty.
