May God reward him well—I mention my need,

then praise him kindly on that occasion, and he bore witness—

a brother of mine who guarantees whatever troubles me.

Whenever he gives to me today, he makes no excuses tomorrow.

Liberal with 'yes,' [possibly shunning] 'no,' delighted by what

he freely gave of his kindness and generously bestowed.

You showed us the tenderness of a father who

built for his sons, then smoothed and made ready.

Yes, from you we have the tenderness of a father who

built for his sons, then smoothed and made ready.

Full-bellied with piety, hollow-bellied of [possibly obscenity],

he loves piety and affection before the Throne.

He lavished kindness until I thought,

from his generosity, that a favor had previously been bestowed on him.

And you were like rain from a cloud that released its drops

for whoever watched it, driving the piled-up clouds along.
