لا ذنب للطرفِ إن زلت قوائِمُهُ

لا ذنب للطرفِ إن زلت قوائِمُهُ

وهضبَةُ الحُلم إبراهيمُ يُزجِيها

وهضبَةُ الحُلم إبراهيمُ يُزجِيها

The steed is not to blame if its legs slip,

while it bears onward Ibrahim, the hill of forbearance.

وكيف يحملُه طرفٌ وخردلةٌ

وكيف يحملُه طرفٌ وخردلةٌ

من حلمهِ تزِنُ الدنيا وما فيها

من حلمهِ تزِنُ الدنيا وما فيها

And how can a steed carry him, when a mustard seed

of his forbearance weighs as much as the world and all within it?
