Who has spread a leather mat over its hills,

Assaying the pure and the inferior,

Like glory’s assaying of Abu Amr,

    The noble son of Abbad,

Of surpassing worth, radiant of countenance,

And the resourceful, shrewd, armored warrior,

And the accomplished one, wondrous in his versatility,

And the renowned, eloquent, intelligent champion.
