وبناتٍ للباقلاءِ تَبَدَّت

وبناتٍ للباقلاءِ تَبَدَّت

كعُيونٍ تفتَّحَت مِن رُقادِ

كعُيونٍ تفتَّحَت مِن رُقادِ

And daughters of the broad bean appeared,

Girls blossomed for the farmer

Like eyes that opened from slumber;

Like eyes awaking from sleep

فَبَياضٌ مِنها مكانَ بياضٍ

فَبَياضٌ مِنها مكانَ بياضٍ

وسوادٌ مِنها مكانَ سوادِ

وسوادٌ مِنها مكانَ سوادِ

So their white was in the place of white,

Some white where others white

And their black in the place of black.

And some black where others black
