لسان الصحافة وَهيَ طَليقة

For every people, the greatest orator

The finest orator speaks for every nation

is the tongue of the press when it is free.

The press is free and unconstrained

فَلا تَعجَبوا من ظلوم راها

فَلا تَعجَبوا من ظلوم راها

فَخافَ اِنفضاحا فابدى بريقه

فَخافَ اِنفضاحا فابدى بريقه

So do not be surprised at an oppressor who saw it

So do not wonder at the injustices you see

and feared exposure, then displayed his gleam.

For he who fears exposure will bare his blade

فَلَيسَ هنالك اثقل وقعا

فَلَيسَ هنالك اثقل وقعا

عَلى المستبد كَصَوت الحَقيقة

عَلى المستبد كَصَوت الحَقيقة

For nothing has a heavier impact

Nothing weighs heavier upon the tyrant

on the despot than the voice of truth.
