أبو سعيدٍ زحلٌ للكرام

ومنسفٌ ينسف عمر الأنام

Abu Sa'id is Saturn to the noble,

Abu Saeed is a calamity for the noble ones,

And a destroyer who lays waste to the lives of humankind.

And a devastator who devastates the lives of people.

لم أره إلا خشيت الردّى

لم أره إلا خشيت الردّى

وقلت يا روح عليك السلام

وقلت يا روح عليك السلام

I never saw him without fearing death,

Whenever I saw him, I feared misfortune,

And said, 'O soul, peace be upon you!'

And said: O soul, peace be upon you.

يبقى ويفنى الناس في شؤمه

يبقى ويفنى الناس في شؤمه

قوموا انظروا كيف بخوت اللئام

قوموا انظروا كيف بخوت اللئام

He lives on, while people perish under his ill-omened influence.

People perish in his ill-fortune,

Rise and see what luck the ignoble have!

Arise and see how the wicked have perished.

ثم تراه سالماً آمناً

ثم تراه سالماً آمناً

يا ملك الموت إلى كَم تنام

يا ملك الموت إلى كَم تنام

Then you see him unharmed and safe—

Then you see him safe and secure.

O Angel of Death, how long will you sleep?
