أَيَّدْتَyou strengthened مُلْكَthe rule of مُعِزِّthe one who exalts دَوْلَةِthe dynasty of هاشِمٍHashim
أَيَّدْتَ مُلْكَ مُعِزِّ دَوْلَةِ هاشِمٍ
فَزَمانَهُso his era عُرْسٌa wedding feast منamong الأَعْراسِwedding feasts
فَزَمانَهُ عُرْسٌ من الأَعْراسِ
You have strengthened the rule of the one who exalts Hashim’s dynasty;
so his era is a wedding feast among wedding feasts.
وتَيَقْنَand became certain الشُّعراءُthe poets أَنْthat رَجاءَهمtheir hope
وتَيَقْنَ الشُّعراءُ أَنْ رَجاءَهم
فيin مَأْمَنٍa place of safety بِكَthrough you مِنْfrom وقوعِthe onset of الباسِadversity
في مَأْمَنٍ بِكَ مِنْ وقوعِ الباسِ
And the poets have become certain that their hope
is safe, through you, from the onset of adversity.
ماnot صَحَّproved true عِلْمُthe science of الكيمياءِalchemy لِغَيْرِهِمْfor anyone other than them
ما صَحَّ عِلْمُ الكيمياءِ لِغَيْرِهِمْ
فيمَنْamong those whom عَرَفْناwe have known مِنْamong جَميعِall النّاسِpeople
فيمَنْ عَرَفْنا مِنْ جَميعِ النّاسِ
The science of alchemy has proved true for none but them,
among all the people we have known.
تُعطيهِمُyou give them الأَمْوالَwealth فيin بِدَرٍmoney bags إِذاwhen
تُعطيهِمُ الأَمْوالَ في بِدَرٍ إِذا
حَمَلواthey bring الكَلامَthe words إِليْكَto you فيon قِرْطاسِa sheet of paper
حَمَلوا الكَلامَ إِليْكَ في قِرْطاسِ
You give them wealth in money bags when
they bring words to you on a sheet of paper.
