بلا اتصال ولا انفصال

بلا اتصال ولا انفصال

The breeze of communion blew,

The breeze of communication blew

without connection or separation,

With no connection or disconnection

بمقتضى مطلع خفي

بمقتضى مطلع خفي

وليس للعلم به مجال

وليس للعلم به مجال

in accordance with a hidden dawning,

By virtue of a hidden dawn

and knowledge has no access to it.

And knowledge has no scope for it

لأنه ثمرة اليقين

لأنه ثمرة اليقين

ومرتقى رتبة الكمال

ومرتقى رتبة الكمال

For it is the fruit of certainty

For it is the fruit of certainty

and an ascent to the rank of perfection.

And the ascent to the rank of perfection

فالاقتدا ثم الاهتدا

فالاقتدا ثم الاهتدا

والاصطفا حال فوق حال

والاصطفا حال فوق حال

So comes emulation, then guidance,

So emulate first then follow guidance

and election—one state above another.

And the elite is a state above a state

فمن لزم ما أمر به

فمن لزم ما أمر به

من العمل واليقين نال

من العمل واليقين نال

So whoever keeps to what he was commanded,

Whoever adheres to what he was ordered

in deeds and certainty, attains

Of work and certainty, attains

حلول جنات أنسه

حلول جنات أنسه

يجتنى ثمرة الوصال

يجتنى ثمرة الوصال

a dwelling in the gardens of intimacy with Him,

The descent of blissful gardens

and gathers the fruit of communion.

Where he plucks the fruit of union

هذه علوم محققه

هذه علوم محققه

رجالهم نعم من الرجال

رجالهم نعم من الرجال

These are verified forms of knowledge;

These are verified sciences

their men—what excellent men they are!

Whose men are excellent men

يقينهم لا ارتياب فيه

يقينهم لا ارتياب فيه

وهديهم ليس به ضلال

وهديهم ليس به ضلال

Their certainty admits no doubt,

Their certainty has no doubt in it

and their way contains no error.

And their guidance has no misguidance

قد اقتدوا ثم جاهدوا

قد اقتدوا ثم جاهدوا

وشاهدوا فانتفى المحال

وشاهدوا فانتفى المحال

They followed, then strove,

They emulated then strived

and witnessed, so impossibility vanished.

And witnessed, so possibilities ceased

علم اليقين ثم عينه

علم اليقين ثم عينه

بل حقه ما بقي احتمال

بل حقه ما بقي احتمال

Knowledge of certainty, then the eye of certainty,

The science of certainty then its essence

rather, its truth—no uncertainty remains.

In fact, nothing remains hypothetical

فنوا عن الكون جملة

فنوا عن الكون جملة

لما بدا طالع الجلال

لما بدا طالع الجلال

They vanished from created existence altogether,

They perished from the whole universe

when the dawn of Majesty appeared,

When the horizon of majesty appeared

وأحياهم بعد موتهم

وأحياهم بعد موتهم

بالجمع في مشهد الجمال

بالجمع في مشهد الجمال

and He revived them after their death,

And revived them after their death

through union, in the vision of Beauty,

With the union in the scene of beauty

حتى صفا إبريز تبرهم

حتى صفا إبريز تبرهم

فلا يساويه قط مال

فلا يساويه قط مال

until their raw gold was refined to pure gold,

Until their ingot was purified

so no wealth can ever equal it.

That no wealth can equal it

فالكون قد صار طوعهم

فالكون قد صار طوعهم

ولا يخالف في الانفعال

ولا يخالف في الانفعال

So the created world has become obedient to them,

So the universe has become subservient to them

nor does it resist when acted upon.

And does not oppose in affection

هذا هو الملك بلا مرا

هذا هو الملك بلا مرا

بلا انعزال ولا انحلال

بلا انعزال ولا انحلال

This is sovereignty beyond dispute,

This is the kingdom without confusion

without deposition or dissolution.

Without isolation or disintegration

تمت وصلوا على النبي

تمت وصلوا على النبي

مهذب القول والفعال

مهذب القول والفعال

It is complete; send blessings upon the Prophet,

It is complete, bestow peace upon the Prophet

whose speech and deeds are refined,

Who refined speech and deeds

وأصحابه سادة الورى

وأصحابه سادة الورى

وآله خير كلّ آل

وآله خير كلّ آل

and upon his Companions, masters of humankind,

And his companions, the masters of mankind

and upon his family, the best of all families.

And his family, the best of all families
