ياO مسمىnamed بالطاwith Ṭāʾ وألفand Alif وهاand Hāʾ
يا مسمى بالطا وألف وها
ياO مطوّقwreathed بالنورin light والبهاand splendor
يا مطوّق بالنور والبها
O you named with Ṭāʾ, Alif, and Hāʾ.
O you who is called Taha and Alif and Haa
O you wreathed in light and splendor.
O you adorned with light and splendor
الشفاعةintercession أنتyou الذيthe one who لهاfor it
الشفاعة أنت الذي لها
ياO محمدMuhammad الدّينthe faith بكthrough you زهاgrew radiant
يا محمد الدّين بك زها
Intercession—you are the one entitled to it.
You are the one to whom intercession belongs
O Muhammad, through you the faith grew radiant.
O Muhammad, through you religion became resplendent
أنتyou أعطيتwere given الشفاعهintercession
أنت أعطيت الشفاعه
رضيmay be pleased اللهGod عنwith جماعهa company
رضي الله عن جماعه
You have been granted intercession.
You gave intercession
May God be pleased with a company
May Allah be pleased with the group
للنبيof the Prophet كأنوارlike lights باعهhis arm-span
للنبي كأنوار باعه
Of the Prophet, like the lights of his arm-span.
To the Prophet they were like lamps he sold
My praise of you has no end
ليسis not مدحيmy praise فيكof you لهfor it انتهاan end
ليس مدحي فيك له انتها
ياO شفيعهاits intercessor للخلقfor creation كلهاall of it
يا شفيعها للخلق كلها
My praise of you has no end.
O intercessor for all creation
O intercessor for all creation.
O Muhammad, the best of messengers
ياO محمدMuhammad ياO خيرbest مرسلاmessenger
يا محمد يا خير مرسلا
دينfaith الاسلامIslam منfrom نوركyour light اعتلاrose high
دين الاسلام من نورك اعتلا
O Muhammad, O best of messengers.
The religion of Islam shone from your light
The faith of Islam rose high through your light.
You sufficed the army as a watering place
أنتyou كفاكyour two palms للجيشfor the army منهلاa watering place
أنت كفاك للجيش منهلا
منwho كمثلكlike you قدindeed نلattained ماwhat اشتهىhe desired
من كمثلك قد نل ما اشتهى
You—your two palms are a spring for the army.
Who is like you that attained what he desired?
Who, like you, has attained what he desired?
O beautiful one, nothing can disgrace you
ياO مليحbeautiful one ماno شيءthing يشينكmars you
يا مليح ما شيء يشينك
نبعsprang forth الماءthe water منfrom يمينكyour right hand
نبع الماء من يمينك
O beautiful one, nothing mars you.
The spring of water is in your right hand
Water sprang forth from your right hand.
The best of all religions is your religion
خيرbest كلّall الدينfaith دينكyour faith
خير كلّ الدين دينك
Your faith is the best of all faiths.
The schools of thought can be followed
And you, you are the axis of prophecy
المذاهبthe schools of thought قدmay يقتديfollow بهاthem
المذاهب قد يقتدي بها
والنبوّةand prophethood أنتyou أنتyou قطبهاits axis
والنبوّة أنت أنت قطبها
The schools of thought—one may follow them.
And prophethood—you, you are its axis.
