أسأل اللَه يغفر ذلتي

أسأل اللَه يغفر ذلتي

فهو أهل التفضل والكرم

فهو أهل التفضل والكرم

I ask God to forgive my lowliness.

I ask Allah to forgive my sins

For He is possessed of grace and generosity.

For He is the Most Gracious, Most Generous

كم تفضل وكم أعطى كثيرا

كم تفضل وكم أعطى كثيرا

حيث لا تحتصى منه النعم

حيث لا تحتصى منه النعم

How often He has shown grace, and how often given abundantly!

How much He has blessed and how much He has given abundantly

For the blessings from Him cannot be counted.

Where His blessings cannot be counted

له على كلّ لمحة نعمة

له على كلّ لمحة نعمة

بل على كلّ مجرى من نسم

بل على كلّ مجرى من نسم

At every glance, He bestows a blessing,

For every glimpse, He has a blessing

Indeed, with every breath that flows.

Rather, with every breath of wind, a blessing

نحمده نشكره في كلّ حال

نحمده نشكره في كلّ حال

في الذي خصّ من نعمة وعم

في الذي خصّ من نعمة وعم

We praise Him and thank Him in every state,

We praise Him, thank Him in every state

For blessings He grants to some and to all.

For the special blessings and favors He has bestowed

لا شريك له في ملكه أبدا

لا شريك له في ملكه أبدا

في انتهاء الأبد ثم القدم

في انتهاء الأبد ثم القدم

He has no partner in His dominion, ever,

He has no partner in His eternal kingdom

Throughout eternity's farthest reach, and in beginningless time.

From endless time to eternity

يا إلهي تفضل ثم جد

يا إلهي تفضل ثم جد

واغمر الكلّ منا بالكرم

واغمر الكلّ منا بالكرم

O my God, show grace, then give generously,

My God, shower Your grace and bounty

And immerse every one of us in generosity.

And overwhelm us all with Your generosity

كم نجاهرك عصيانا وكم

كم نجاهرك عصيانا وكم

تستر العيب منايا حكم

تستر العيب منايا حكم

How often we openly disobey You, and how often

How much we disobey You openly and how much

You conceal our faults, O Judge!

You conceal our faults in Your wisdom

وان عصينا لأمر قد قضى

وان عصينا لأمر قد قضى

لاصرار ونتبعه الندم

لاصرار ونتبعه الندم

And if we disobey, it is through a decree already ordained,

If we disobey Your ordained decree

Not persisting in it; we follow it with remorse.

Out of stubbornness and later regret it

ثم الاسلام أكمل نعمة

ثم الاسلام أكمل نعمة

واتباع النبي أفضل وأتم

واتباع النبي أفضل وأتم

Moreover, Islam is the most complete blessing,

Then Islam is the perfect blessing

And following the Prophet is best and most complete.

And following the Prophet the best and most complete

وصلاتي على الهادي البشير

وصلاتي على الهادي البشير

سيد العرب طرّا والعجم

سيد العرب طرّا والعجم

And my blessings be upon the Guide, the bearer of glad tidings,

And may my prayers be upon the Guided Herald

Master of all Arabs and non-Arabs.
